The California Achievement Test (CAT) is one of the most widely used of the student assessments for basic academic skills. The CAT provides educators, students and their parents with a measure of achievement and national comparison in reading, language, spelling, and mathematics.

Once you have placed your California Achievement Test purchase with Academic Excellence:

◦ Printed instructions, the California Achievement Test, and a return envelope will be shipped via Priority Mail, usually within 1 business day (transit times will vary).

Recommendation Service: Academic Excellence's independent recommendation service is for home educators who would like to receive customized curriculum recommendations based upon the achievement test results. Academic Excellence is not affiliated with any curriculum publisher and provides objective, experienced feedback on curriculum. The Academic Excellence staff have been involved in home education since 1987 and have extensive experience with curriculum providers and the spectrum of homeschooling philosophies.
The resource recommendations from Academic Excellence are strategically selected to strengthen and improve competency and mastery in academic areas presented in standardized testing. These key selected resources make excellent "tutoring aides" and addenda to any curriculum. Our goal in developing the Academic Excellence recommendation service is to provide parents with user friendly, economical resources that strengthen students' academic achievement and testing skills; focus tutoring and teaching efforts; and facilitate preparation for and success in ACT, SAT, and college testing. All recommendations are based upon the student's test scores and our staff's extensive experience with home education. Each of the primary recommendations are provided in correlation to individual students' scores to questions and sections of standardized tests. Secondary resources are often challenging, educational games or less formal learning practices. Each recommendation is measured by ease of use by parents; levels of response, enjoyment, and success by students; and affordability. By targeting and addressing students' deficit areas with easy to use and economical tutorial resources, test scores, grades, and confidence elevate and improve. Recommendations in students' areas of proficiency keep students engaged, challenged, and progressing in all subject areas. We have found this to be an easy, economical way to ensure academic excellence and success.
Certificate of Completion: As an added value to our customers, Academic Excellence is pleased to provide a free, printable certificate of achievement to all students who complete an AE California Achievement Test. You can view a sample of the certificate here.

Excellent and super fast service!

Bought On The Strength Of A Long Time Friend's Suggestion-

Great CAT Tests
Homeschooling requires Assessment Tests which can be very intimidating to new homeschooling parents, as it was for me; I didn't know which one to get. We were on the internet trying to find tests and Academic Excellence was referred to us by a friend. She told us about the test, gave us the site and we ordered the CAT Test. The test came in a few days and my son was given the test by the Administrator. I was so nervous. I was nervous about him passing the test and if the requirement was going to be fulfilled. The Administrator said, "He took his time and I think he did a good job." The test had 3 or 4 parts and they were timed. When we got the results back, my son test high on the exam and we were thrilled about that. The test met all the requirements by the Board of Education, as well. This year, we had several other companies to choose from but we decided to go with Academic Excellence because of their track record. Last year when I was a nervous wreck they emailed me and answered all the questions we had. I really appreciate that. This year 2023, we got it a little late, we got The Complete Battery Reading, Math, Language CAT Level 5. I'm still nervous because we haven't gotten the results yet but my son is a good student and I know he'll do a good job. I really want to Thank Academic Excellence for making the whole assessment process less nerve-wrecking and for providing us with Great Testing Materials. CAT test
My first year homeschooling. I found this site easy to use. Affordable prices. Good options. Paper or online. Very helpful and friendly representatives. So kind. I will reorder next year as well and y’all were recommended by several to me. If I knew ones I’d definitely recommend. And in the following years I’m sure I will.

Excellent Resource!
We have previously purchased our CAT tests from a different company, and I’m so glad we found Academic Excellence! These were cheaper, came so much quicker and are much more user friendly- being able to email in the results! Awesome company!

I've used this company for 3 years

Excellent experience
After i ordered the test, it was shipped out to me very quickly! The test had easy to understand directions and once my daughter was finished i only had to take a few pictures of the pages and upload it to an email to submit the test. No time limit
I have been using this test for several years now from this company and I will continue. This is perfect for my homeschooler and there is no rush to finish in a certain time limit. I like that it is paper and not online. In my opinion this is the best company to order from. It also takes stress off of the child knowing that they don't have to rush. Unknown on 26th Jun 2023
